My baby's Pediatrician said that my baby should start eating solid food when he turned 6 months old. He was supposed to eat solid food on the 3rd to 5th month but because he has allergies. He needs to only drink milk until 6 months, no vitamins, no other food only milk!
Last week he had just turned 6 months old and I was very excited to prepare the food that he needed to eat and because he has allergies, I have been very careful on choosing the food that he could only eat. Since, his doctor said that his allergies hopefully should minimized when he turns one year old. So, by then the allergies might still come out. One very important tool in feeding that I remember was to use a small soft spoon, since he didn't have teeth yet and his gums were still very sensitive.
What was the food that I prepared?
I didn't buy instant cereals because they are sweet and it will introduce sweets on my baby's taste glands and may make him to be choosy about the food that he is going to eat. I think of introducing food that has a natural taste without even adding sugar or salt on it. So, what I did, I bought an organic rice in the department store and have it grounded somewhere in the market. I made porridge from the grounded organic rice. I also boiled carrots, mashed it then mix it together with the porridge without adding salt or sugar. Since, it has been my baby's first feeding moment, with the first spoon of the food, he seemed not like it but he was also very excited to eat, then he opened his mouth and ate the food. I prepare my baby's food out of a natural fruits, vegetables and organic rice. Please see below some of the recipes I do for my little one.
Organic Rice with banana.
I used the scoop of my baby milk in measuring the amount of organic rice for the porridge. On his first week I only put 1 scoop of organic rice and half glass of water for the three meals. Then I mashed the banana just enough for one meal and put the remaining in a container then put it inside the refrigerator. I get an amount of the porridge just enough for one meal and mixed it together with the mashed banana. Then my baby really liked it.
